1. Who we are and when these terms apply

1.1 “Vincent Hall”, “we” and “us” mean Van Gogh Exhibition B.V., trading as Vincent Hall, Mauritskade 55A, 1092 AD Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 94140332, VAT NL866651044B01, e-mail go@vincenthall.nl.

1.2 “Visitor” means anyone who buys a ticket, holds a ticket or enters the premises of Vincent Hall (the exhibition halls, entrance, offices, toilets and outdoor areas within the fence at Mauritskade 55A). “Ticket” means any admission ticket, voucher, invitation or pass, printed or digital.

1.3 These terms apply to every ticket purchase, every visit and every stay on the premises, also when the ticket was bought for or given to you by someone else. By buying a ticket or entering the premises you accept these terms. The person who buys tickets for others makes sure they know and follow these terms.

1.4 Separate terms may apply to some activities (for example venue rental, workshops or events organised by third parties); they are shown before you book. If they differ, the separate terms prevail for that activity. Arrangements that differ from these terms apply only if we have confirmed them in writing.

2. Tickets and purchase

2.1 Tickets are sold only through our own channels: www.vincenthall.nl, the exhibition websites we run (such as weloveplaymobil.nl), our ticket shop tickets.vincenthall.nl and partners we name on our website. Tickets bought elsewhere may be refused at the door without any refund by us.

2.2 Prices are in euros and include VAT. Prices may change; the price shown when you pay applies. We are not responsible for prices or information published by third parties.

2.3 The agreement is concluded when your payment is confirmed. Your ticket is sent to the e-mail address you give. Check the date, time slot, number and type of tickets as soon as you receive them and tell us about any mistake straight away. If you do not receive your ticket within 24 hours, contact us.

2.4 A ticket is valid for one admission on the date and in the time slot shown on it. Once you have left the premises, the ticket is no longer valid. Each ticket has a unique code; only the first scan is admitted. Keep your ticket safe: we do not replace lost, stolen or copied tickets.

2.5 Discounted tickets (children, students, CJP and similar) are valid only together with proof of the discount; staff may ask for ID. Without proof you pay the difference at the door or may be refused.

2.6 Tickets are for private use only. It is not allowed to resell tickets or offer them for sale commercially or for a higher price, or to use them for prizes, promotions or packages without our written permission. We may cancel such tickets without a refund.

2.7 We may refuse or cancel an order in case of an obvious error in price or availability, suspected fraud, or misuse of promotion codes. If we cancel for such a reason, we refund what you have paid for that order.

3. No refund, no exchange

3.1 Tickets are for a specific date and time slot. Under Dutch and EU consumer law (Article 6:230p(e) of the Dutch Civil Code) there is therefore no 14-day right of withdrawal for tickets.

3.2 Tickets are not refundable and cannot be exchanged for another date, time slot or type, also not in case of illness, bad weather, transport delays, late arrival or a change of plans, unless these terms say otherwise. If we agree to an exchange as a courtesy, this does not create a right to further exchanges and we may charge an administration fee.

3.3 No refund or compensation is given if you do not use your ticket, arrive too late to be admitted (article 5), leave early, are refused admission or removed because of a breach of these terms, or cannot visit because a ticket or proof of discount is missing.

3.4 Once you have entered the exhibition, the ticket has been used. After entry, tickets are not refunded or exchanged in any case, including when you did not like the exhibition or parts of it were less busy or less complete than you expected.

4. Changes and cancellation by Vincent Hall

4.1 We may change the content, order, duration, opening hours or parts of an exhibition or programme, for example for maintenance, technical reasons, safety or capacity. Small changes that do not substantially affect the visit do not give a right to a refund or compensation.

4.2 If we cancel your time slot or close the exhibition on your date, we offer you a ticket for another date or time slot of your choice, or a refund of the ticket price paid. This is the only compensation; we do not pay other costs such as travel, accommodation or parking.

4.3 If the premises have to be evacuated during your visit (an alarm, an emergency or an exercise) and you could not complete your visit, you may come back once on another date by arrangement with us.

4.4 We are not liable for failing to perform because of force majeure: circumstances beyond our control, such as fire, flooding, power or network failure, failure of suppliers, illness of staff, strikes, epidemics, government measures, terrorism or threats. In that case article 4.2 applies; any other compensation is excluded.

5. Arrival and admission

5.1 Arrive within your time slot. Visitors who are up to 30 minutes late are admitted when capacity allows; later arrivals may be refused or asked to wait without a refund. The last entry time shown on the website and on the ticket applies; after last entry, there is no admission.

5.2 Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult (18+) at all times. Teachers and group leaders supervise their groups at all times.

5.3 For safety reasons staff may check bags and clothing. Visitors who refuse a check may be refused admission.

5.4 Admission may be refused, or a visitor may be removed, without any refund, if the visitor is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, behaves aggressively, threateningly or indecently, endangers themselves or others, causes nuisance, damages property, does not follow staff instructions or breaches these terms. In case of a criminal offence we call the police. We may refuse future admission to visitors who have seriously breached these terms.

5.5 Large bags, suitcases, backpacks and other large items are not allowed in the exhibition. There is no guarded cloakroom; items left in the coat or bag area are at your own risk (article 9.5).

5.6 It is not allowed to bring: weapons or objects that can be used as a weapon, glass, fireworks, flammable or dangerous substances, drugs, laser pointers, drones, selfie sticks, tripods, lighting equipment, scooters, skates or bicycles, and animals (except assistance dogs). Staff decide what is not allowed; such items may be refused or must be left outside.

6. House rules during your visit

6.1 Follow the instructions of our staff at all times. Behave in a way that does not disturb other visitors or the exhibition.

6.2 Do not touch projection surfaces, screens, installations, objects or equipment unless this is clearly allowed. Do not stand or climb on furniture and installations, do not block walkways, exits or projectors, and do not run in the halls. Parents and supervisors make sure children follow these rules.

6.3 Eating, drinking (except water in a closed bottle), smoking, vaping and the use of drugs are not allowed in the exhibition. Use of mobile phones may not disturb others: no calls, no sound, no phone torch.

6.4 It is not allowed to sell, hand out or promote goods or services, collect money, hold demonstrations or make recordings for others on the premises without our written permission.

6.5 Damage you cause must be reported to staff straight away (article 9.7).

7. Health and safety

7.1 Our exhibitions are immersive: they use large moving projections, darkness, bright and flashing lights, loud sound and music. This may cause discomfort, dizziness, disorientation or motion sickness and may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Visitors with epilepsy, heart conditions, migraine, sensitivity to light or sound, balance problems, and pregnant visitors decide for themselves whether to visit and visit at their own risk. Stop watching and tell a member of staff if you feel unwell.

7.2 Some areas are dark and the floor may be uneven or have steps. Watch your step and keep children close. Seating (such as bean bags) is used at your own risk.

7.3 The exhibition hall on the ground floor is barrier-free. Other floors and the toilets are not wheelchair accessible. Ask us before your visit if you need assistance.

7.4 In an emergency, follow the instructions of staff and the signs to the emergency exits.

8. Photography and filming

8.1 You may take photos and videos for private, non-commercial use, without flash, lights, tripods or professional equipment and without disturbing others. The exhibitions are protected by copyright: recording a full show or a large part of it and publishing, selling or distributing recordings of the exhibition for commercial purposes is not allowed. Respect other visitors: do not film or photograph them without their consent.

8.2 Professional or commercial photography and filming (including for influencers, advertising, media or education) is only allowed with our prior written permission, requested at go@vincenthall.nl.

8.3 We sometimes take photos and video in the halls for our website, social media and promotion. When we do, this is announced at the entrance and in the hall. If you do not want to appear in them, tell the photographer or a member of staff, and we will not use recognisable images of you; images already published will be removed or made unrecognisable on request (go@vincenthall.nl). We do not make recognisable close-ups of visitors, and never of children, without consent. See our privacy policy.

9. Liability

9.1 Your visit is at your own risk, to the extent permitted by law.

9.2 Vincent Hall is only liable for damage that is the direct result of a failure attributable to Vincent Hall. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, such as loss of income, lost profits, missed travel or other plans, or non-material damage, to the extent the law allows this.

9.3 Our liability for any one event is limited to the amount paid out under our liability insurance in that case, increased by our own risk under that insurance. If the insurer does not pay, our liability is limited to the price of the ticket(s) of the visitor concerned.

9.4 The limitations in this article do not apply if the damage is caused by intent or deliberate recklessness of Vincent Hall or its management, or where mandatory law does not permit a limitation.

9.5 Belongings, clothing and bags you bring or leave anywhere on the premises, including the coat and bag area, remain your responsibility. We are not liable for their loss, theft or damage, unless caused by intent or gross negligence of Vincent Hall. Found items are kept for up to one month.

9.6 We are not liable for damage caused by other visitors or third parties, or for damage resulting from not following these terms or staff instructions, or from the health effects described in article 7 where a visitor visits despite these warnings.

9.7 Visitors are liable for all damage they cause to Vincent Hall, our staff, other visitors or third parties, including damage to projection surfaces, installations and equipment. Parents and guardians are liable for damage caused by children in their care; teachers, group leaders and organisers of groups or events are jointly liable for damage caused by their group or guests. They indemnify Vincent Hall against claims of third parties in this respect.

9.8 Any claim against Vincent Hall must be reported to us in writing as soon as possible, and in any case within one year after the event that caused the damage.

10. Groups and schools

10.1 Groups of 15 or more people and schools book through go@vincenthall.nl at least two weeks before the visit. The booking is final after our written confirmation. Payment is due before the date stated in the confirmation; if we have not received payment by then, we may release the time slot.

10.2 A one-time change of the date or of the number of visitors (up to 10% of the booking) is free of charge until seven days before the visit. Cancellations and reductions in number later than seven days before the visit are not refunded. We may divide large groups into smaller groups.

10.3 Group leaders and teachers supervise their group during the whole visit; there must be at least one adult supervisor for every 10 pupils.

11. Privacy and camera surveillance

11.1 We process personal data in line with the GDPR, as described in our privacy policy.

11.2 For the safety of visitors, staff and the exhibition, the premises are monitored by video cameras, indicated by signs. Recordings are kept for at most four weeks, unless needed to investigate an incident, and are shared with the police only where the law allows this.

12. Complaints, applicable law and disputes

12.1 Do you have a complaint? Please tell a member of staff during your visit, or e-mail go@vincenthall.nl as soon as possible with a clear description and your ticket number. We confirm receipt and answer within 14 days; if more time is needed, we let you know within that period.

12.2 These terms and all agreements with Vincent Hall are governed by Dutch law. This does not deprive consumers living in another EU country of the protection of the mandatory law of their country of residence.

12.3 Disputes are submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam. A consumer may, within one month after we have invoked this clause in writing, choose to have the dispute decided by the court that is competent by law.

13. Final provisions

13.1 We may change these terms. The version published on the website when you buy your ticket applies to that purchase; the version published on the day of your visit applies to the house rules (articles 5 to 8).

13.2 If a provision of these terms is invalid, the other provisions remain in force, and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one that comes as close as possible to its purpose.

13.3 These terms are written in English. Translations are for convenience only; in case of a difference, the English text prevails.
